Okay, so, pictures for the cuff. For some reason, my phone & phone provider have decided to be utterly lame, so i can't get any pictures off my phone, but since the thing isn't the best camera ever, who cares, right? Right.
I hope it's okay that a lot of these are links? Since the pictures are pretty big & i didn't want to break the blog. :\
For this, i kind of like how they all end up overlapping. ....no duh, they're leaves on a tree, they overlap. What i mean is more like the lines they end up making, & how they kind of seem to go everywhere. If you draw it out, it kind of looks like a super messy blind contour drawing. And then, by themselves, they do that nice fanning out thing.
And i have no idea what kind of tree is by the Union-- the one that looks vaguely like a pine & a willow had a child (i know, you're all going, "whatthehellshutup")-- but putting "droopy trees" into google comes up with some nice stuff:
This kind of goes along with the idea of looking at the branches of the ginko (?) trees, which i couldn't find a picture online of.
Esp. the colors?
Kind of like the Union's (is this broken?)
I like how things change over time, how they show what they've had happen to them. Like stuff that gets covered in paint or books that have been read so much/are so old they're falling apart.
For the mask, obviously.;;;
Whistler's Peacock Room at the Freer (in DC)
So... something with more organic lines, like those in trees-- leaves, branches-- but also feeling older than it actually is?
Aren't you glad this post is over? :DDD
